Effervescent, sweet, charming, and not to mention extremely talented, Whitnie Means, singer, songwriter and guitarist will capture your heart and your affection with the sound of her captivatingly original voice.

Even at the tender age of four people began to recognize Whitnie’s emerging talent. At age 9, she began taking guitar lessons from instructor Don Aldrich. She wrote her first original song, “Man on the Moon,” 6 months later. Jam sessions, impromptu performances, and talent shows could only tide her over for so long. She performed her song at the Walnut Valley Music Festival during the Acoustic Kids show and loved being on stage. She knew from then on that music was in her future.

By junior high, Whitnie was well on her way to becoming a respected performer. She competed in several regional and national competitions, and won the Colgate Country Showdown (local level) in Wichita’s Century II. She has mastered the microphone and is thankful for the opportunity to share her music with the world and have fun doing it. The music just kept coming.

After performing with several notable artists around her hometown, she ventured into a small studio to record her efforts for the first time. For more than a year, Whitnie has been working very hard writing songs with Steven Falke of Cornerstone Studios. Now, at age 16, she plans to release her debut CD this spring. Journey is an expression of the different musical styles she loves. Her songs are written from the heart and relate beautifully to many people’s lives.

Writing, performing, and recording her own music is when Whitnie feels most complete and she has worked relentlessly to develop her raw talent into something truly unique. She lights up the stage like no other young artist. She will stir your soul with her voice and melt your heart with her smile. You are all invited to join Whitnie on her musical Journey.
